Quiet days in Palestine

Director: Sylvain Roumette
Productions: ARTE/FAI 1998
Lasted: 13min
Language: French
VHS Pal
Synopsis
From Palestine, the violence, uprooting and suffering images are known. This 13mn film, in the form of a title-bench, tells another history: that of an open and cosmopolitan, carefree and happy company. Through the images found by the Arab Foundation for the Image, Fouad Elkoury and sylvain Roumette deliver a new glance on Palestine of before 48.
The memories of five pilot (women) of the time, in voices off, form the essence of the band its. They are evoked on the simple method of "I remember" and superimpose themselves on the N&B photographs to unroll an ordinary life section, the school, the house and the festivals until the departure in 48.
