Forum *Results of research and/or tool designs : Caroline Guffens

This presentation is based on the results of the "WWW-ICT" study, a European research project of the fifth European Framework Programme. Seven countries took part in the study and, as well as examining the art of research on this subject and providing an on-line bibliography, each of them carried out 20 biographical interviews and 4 case studies, and compiled their countries good practices, aiming at reducing the gaps linked to gender in ICTs jobs.
On the basis of this material, this presentation will cover the organisation of work in firms and /or the ICTs jobs. It will cover successively time/work relations, hierarchical relations and training. It will highlight the particular problems involved in this organisation of work, which concern men and women but which, owing to our family and cultural models, affect women more.
