Hacking means destabilizing the use of a technology only produced with the aim of consumption. Hackers and political activists have found each others during hacklabs and gave birth to ‘hacktivism’, a movement that uses technology as an instrument for taking action against the almighty power of big capitalist players. The feminist movement has associated to hacktivism and created networks that fight for the right of women.

Montserrat Boix, is a feminist and 'hacktivist' living in Spain (Madrid-Barcelona). She is the founder of the site Mujeres en Red (Women in network). As a journalist of TVE she made a lot of reports on women in the arab world. She's a promotor of free software, translated SPIP in spanish and a member of the Madrid Hacklab. She has undertaken a cyberactivist-cyberfeminist campaign against the genocide of women in ciudad juarez and chihauhau (méxique) that has had a great succes. In this context she created the site www.mexicoturismo.org that obliged the Mexican government to organise a countercampaign.
